Who is Business Declares?
Business Declares is a non-profit group that unites businesses focused on tackling climate change and environmental issues. Leaders with a broad range of experience from sectors such as B Corp, SMEs, and FTSE100 launched it in 2019.
Their mission is to help businesses understand their role in supporting the planet’s future. As a partner of the Race to Zero Campaign, Business Declares guides companies towards net zero emissions and aligning with global sustainability goals. They urge businesses to take immediate action for a healthier planet and fairer future.
Our Commitment to Sustainability & Net Zero
As a committed member of Business Declares, we have outlined our strategy for reducing our carbon emissions. We’re focused on achieving Net Zero emissions by 2030, with a clear path to get there before 2050. Our approach includes:
- Reducing carbon emissions from our operations.
- Keep innovation at our core to develop more sustainable products.
- Partnering with carbon offsetting organisations to support sustainability beyond our direct actions.
In addition, we dedicate ourselves to aligning our efforts with the Sustainable Development Goals. We do this to make sure that our actions contribute to the global sustainability agenda.

Our Commitment to People and Community
We believe supporting people is just as important as the products we manufacture. That’s why we’re committed to creating a workplace that’s safe, respectful, and supportive.
Inclusion and Diversity
Recognising that different perspectives strengthen the workplace, fair treatment and removing barriers to opportunity are key priorities. This includes making the recruitment process more accessible, offering training and clear progression routes for all staff, and promoting from within wherever possible. The goal is to create a culture where everyone can contribute and thrive.
Local Community Engagement
We actively support local initiatives and continue to create pathways for young people to explore careers in engineering and manufacturing. A long-standing relationship with British Engineering Manufacturers’ Association (BEMA) helps us welcome apprentices and students into our workplace. From work experience placements to hands-on learning opportunities, we’re committed to investing in future talent.
Health and Wellbeing
We’re a Peninsula client, and all Seetru employees have access to the Wisdom: Mental Health app. It offers practical tools for dealing with stress, improving sleep, building self-care routines, and ways to improve mental health.

Greener Choices in Everyday Operations
We’ve taken steps on our own grounds to reduce our impact. Starting small and growing into bigger and better changes overtime.
Some of the actions we have taken are the following:
- In partnership with Bristol City Council, a new bike shed has been installed on our premises. This supports our Cycle to Work scheme and encourages low-carbon commuting.
- Personal bins have been removed across the facility and replaced with shared recycling and waste stations. This will in turn help to improve recycling habits and reduce landfill waste.
Seetru’s safety valves and liquid level gauges are built to last, helping customers reduce unnecessary replacements and waste. Our trusted engineering partner, Seetru Engineering Services (SES), also supports customers with refurbishment and maintenance in the UK. This support extends the life of safety valves, further reducing environmental impact.
