Amongst the many sided service in the chemical and process industry it is of interest to mention the application of CPI Reflex Gauge on marine drilling rigs for crude oil production.

Tubular sight glass
The CPI tubular gauge is suitable for up to 22 bar g. pressure and 150°C, but this has to be subject to details of installation. The length of the gauge and operating temperature have bearing on the pressure rating of the unit, so a specification should be checked and agreed with Seetru.

The gauge is made up of stainless steel elements. The tubular sight glass is housed in a double skin guard to prevent spillage even if the sight tube breaks. Glass tubes are limited to 1m length. For longer gauges glanded intermediate supports are provided.

Heavy duty Reflex sight glass
The CPI Reflex (flat glass) Gauge is an implementation of the Seetru heavy duty reflex gauge with CPI flanged tank connections and automatic shut off valves. It is suitable for up to 75 bar g. pressure and a temperature range of -32°C to 250°C, but this has to be subject to details of installation. The type of tank connection and operating temperature have bearing on the pressure rating of the unit and the specification should be checked and agreed with Seetru.

The gauge is made up of stainless steel precision cast elements which are compact and elegant in appearance. These elements allow a wide range of configurations to be built up, it is particularly noteworthy that centre to centre (and gapless) visibility can be secured by appropriate use of the component elements.

A feature of the design is that the clamping bolts of the gauge can be tightened on the front face only, without recourse to special tools.
